Zenith Launched a new watch that has researched for 5 years – Columbus Tourbillon watch, and named as Christopher-Columbus, limited 25 pieces. On September 28, 2010, Zenith held new item presentation at Royal Observatory, to launch a new watch – Columbus Tourbillon watch. Zenith named this watch Christopher Columbus, expressing the tribute to this brave navigation explorer. Actually, Zenith has been not the first time to use “Columbus”.
In the early 20 century, Zenith has created Lepine Observatory clock movement, its escapement was named as “Columbus escapement”.
This zero weigh Tourbillon movement is made by automatic adjustable frame and constant level escapement. In this system, one gear system controls the revolving of the frame axis, another differential gear that equipped with reverse controller offsets all relative movement of every kinds of elements. Zenith Columbus Tourbillon watch in this presentation is limited 25 pieces, equipped with Academy 8804 manual winding movement, 18K white gold, rose gold or yellow gold case. Dial adopts wheat pattern and PariS peg pattern, collocated with blue steel pointer and arc sapphire crystal glass face.
