The Patek Philippe chronograph released in 1943 became one of the most expensive men’s watches in the history. The world’s most expensive watch is also the one by Patek Phlippe – it was sold by Antiqurum auction house for $5,94 million in 2002, while the Supercomplication pocket watch by Patek Philippe was sold at Sotheby’s auction for $1.1 million.
The Patek Philippe chronograph sold in this year at Christie’s has a gold case. The dial of the watch measures 37.6 mm. The company released only two pieces of this brilliant model, the second piece is exposed at Patek Philippe museum.
Patek Philippe is famous for its incredibly expensive watches. Last year the Calibre 89 Patek Philippe pocket watch from the famous Matsuda collection was sold for $ 4.5 million. The Calibre 89 that includes 33 complications was developed by Patek Philippe engineers to the 150th anniversary of the brand.
